Last installment Pemmy and James looked at the ORIGINAL Heckle and Jeckle cartoons. Today they look at Filmation's take on the two magpies. It can't be that bad... Can it?

Taking advantage of their powers as cartoon characters, Heckle and Jeckle disregard the law and practice black magic on a puzzled canine policeman.

For those of you that actually read these descriptions, this is an important video for me from a purely technical point. Lots of changes to my scanner and the process in this.

First - It was scanned with a new version of scanning software. I've been doing QA on the software for about two weeks. It adds some nice features and is easier to install.

Second - It was stabilized an entirely new way in Davinci Resolve using a Planar Tracker. This way is easier and works a LOT better.

Third - I have been testing a new hardware change and this wasn't the first to use it but it probably helped make it a little more stable to begin with.

Fourth - It required repair of the soundtrack. There was a big scratch in the soundtrack area. I think it affected the sound a little but not terribly. You can see the scratch in the sample picture.

Color correction was heavy. Not a lot still left...

Probably a week or two from new Trailers. A few things to catch up on.

The film was scanned with The Gugusse Roller. This is a DIY film scanner project that was built using a 3D Printer.

Another cartoon used to test the scanner. This one was faded to a red/yellow look. Kinda strange. Color corrected fairly well. Probably the last cartoon for a little while. I'll be setting up for 35mm again soon and there are some trailers to be be scanned. Not the best titles, but some things I've never heard of.
